I decided to have some fun and doing a robot painting the way a kid would do. I used the basic Liquitex paints which re brighter and more garish. A bit like the colors you'd et from crayons. I did a couple more of these which I'll be posting in the next few days.

Here's a looser painting I did of Venice in acrylics. 

"DSO Glow"

 

While attending the DSO a few weeks ago, I spent part of the intermission gazing out the second-story window. I loved the way all the lines interested and how the old lamps lit up the street. There was also a red glow reflected in the glass. Once again, ya just never know where you'll find inspiration for a painting!

"Christ Cornerstone Church"

 

An interesting looking church on Detroit's east side. The city has a ton of these, 

and I think I'll turn it into a series. Most likely in acrylic and watercolors.

I have to acknowledge a friend for taking this reference photo. Thank you Molly! I thought this was one of the more spectacular sunrises in recent months. I hope I did it justice.

Another gem I found in the new garden on Belle Isle.
