"Tower of Power"

 

This is the infamous "Tower" at Grosse Pointe South High School. My alma mater. I drove by it a couple weeks ago and thought it might make a decent painting.

"Trunk. Space"

 

I did a lot of night strolls around the neighborhood last winter and got a lot of ideas for paintings. Now that winter has hit, I think I'll start doing this again. This is one I found the other night. Look for more to come!

"Window Sticker"

 

I don't know how this happened, but a tiny feather somehow got stuck outside our kitchen window. It's been there for weeks, so I thought it might make an interesting painting. Sort of surreal. 

"Mir Lenin Commemorative Model"

 

A Soviet-era camera I found on eBay.  On the top of the camera is a cool portrait of Lenin. 

"Drama at Dawn"

 

Got up at sunrise about a week ago and I saw this amazing sky. Sometimes it pays to get up early. 

"Ice Tree"

 

A small frozen pond and a tree reflecting on it. Just a serene little scene. 

"Needle Work"

 

Sometimes it pays to look down. I was walking on the boardwalk at a local park the other day. We had just gotten a light dusting of snow. It was mostly melted, but when I looked down, this little scene caught y eye. I thought it'd make an interesting painting.

"Trippin' the Light Fantastic"

Went on the Christmas lighting display at the Edsel Ford House last week. One of the cooler displays was this one. There were motion detectors that would trigger these light auras that followed your feet around on the sidewalk. It was eerie but also mesmerizing! Well worth the price of admission.

"Mushroom Central"

 

This tree stump was in our local park. I walked right by it until my wife pointed out the cluster of mushrooms growing on it. Interesting. 

"Poinsettia Hybrid"

 

Spotted this unusual looking Poinsettia at our local grocery store.  I had no idea anything like this existed. Very cool. Maybe I'll have to pick one up for the holidays.
