A second painting from my wife's cousin's photos. These would be pretty cool to witness!

"Mt. Shasta Lenticular One"

 

My wife's cousin who lives in California took a few photos of the famous lenticular clouds near Mt. Shasta while skiing there. Here's one of the paintings I did of these wild looking clouds. They look like something from outer space. Not sure if my painting does them justice.

A screen grab from the Guy Richie show on Netflix. If you haven't seen it, it's wickedly funny! And, as you can see, there's some splendid scenery in the show!

This was taken from a screen grab from the film of the same title. 

It had a very monotone feel which I thought I'd try to replicate in watercolors.

This has been on my to-do list for a while. I finally decided to get to it. 

I did it in pen & ink and used a limited watercolor palette.

I think this will be the last one in the series. They were great fun to do, but it's definitely time to move on. Lots of other paintings are waiting in the wings for me to get busy on.

A trip to Trader Joe's yielded a bunch (bad pun intended) of new painting subjects .

It's unfortunate that they use so much packaging.

"Kiwi's Playhouse"

 

I decided to revisit this series. I found these in an amazing Armenian grocery story in LA a few weeks ago. They were so vibrant I simply had to paint them. Not sure how many folks 

will get the allusion in the title. I was considering calling it 'Kiwi's Big Adventure" but this one made slightly more sense.

This was done from one she took early this week. Such drama! 

"Gallery Ghoul"

While roaming around the Detroit Institute of Arts, I notice this unique shadow one of the sculptures was creating. It just had this creepy vibe to it, so I thought I'd paint it. Proving once again, you just never know where the inspiration for a painting will come from.

Recently visited my daughter who lives in LA. 

This was the beautiful view down (or up?) her street at night.
