"SnowTree #6"

Last one in this batch. I went out during the snowstorm and grabbed a ton
of reference photos. Look for more in the series.

"SnowTree #5"

Obviously number five in the series. This is a redbud in our front yard. We planted it about 30 years ago when it was about three feet tall. We got the sapling from my wife's Aunt and Uncle. Now the two trees shade the front of our house!

"SnowTree #3"

I've been having fun with this series. Trying to depict a tree with snow on it, with minimal lines
and colors. Treating it in a zen-like manner. I rather like the way this one turned out.

"SnowTree #1"

I just started a series of minimalist watercolors of trees and snow.
They have a Zen-like quality to them.

"Blue Orchid"

I thought this one had a Japanese feeling to it. More fun with watercolors! Does anyone know if orchids can actually be blue? I heard a rumor that the color was fake somehow.

"Lincoln Walls"

The town of Lincoln is so beautiful. There's a scene just waiting to be painted everywhere!

"River Queen"

Another still from a movie by the same title. Excellent movie BTW.
The scenery of New Zealand makes you want to hop on a plane and visit this beautiful country!

"Foothill Mill"

Another striking steel mill. This one looks like it's in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. I liked the way the mill itself is fairly monochromatic against the brown of the snowy mountains.

"Days of the Bagnold Summer"

An interesting scene from a very funny, offbeat British comedy. As you can see, I did a screen grab and painted this in watercolor. If you're interested in the movie, check out my review and a trailer here: http://moviejunkiemark.blogspot.com

"Lincoln Backyards"

While walking on the wall around town, I noticed this colorful vignette.
Thought it was worth committing to canvas. Such a beautiful town. Can't wait to go back!

"Coming Through the Rye"

A watercolor based on a screen grab of the excellent movie
"Coming through the Rye." If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

"Chutes & Ladders"

I just love the majesty of these old steel mills. One of these days, Im going to have to do a road trip and explore them. In the meantime, I'll have to rely on the interwebs for my reference material.

"Lincoln Cathedral"

An absolutely awesome structure. It towers (no pun intended) over the entire city.
So glad I got to spend a couple days in this beautiful city.

"Lettuce Entertain You"

A loose painting of a bunch of lettuce at the Eastern Market.
