"The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry-1"

A watercolor inspired by a scene from a remarkable movie. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. One of the best movies I've seen this year. And I've seen a lot of films, believe me.

"The Shed"

I used to do guided tours of Belle Isle in old Ford Model As for the Antique Touring Company. Here's a watercolor of the shed we used to operate out of. It's located in the historic Ford Piquette Plant where Henry Ford first produced the Model T. Beautiful old building that was saved from the wrecking ball by a group of preservationists with a vision!

"St. Anthony Cathedral"

Another beautiful old church. I had no idea there was a huge cathedral hidden
just a few blocks off the main drag--Gratiot Ave. on the east side of Detroit.

Three of my paintings are now fridge magnets
and are for sale at the Belle Isle Aquarium gift shop!

"Pine-apple of My Eyes"

Spotted these at our local Kroger's and thought they'd make a handsome painting!

"Sticks & Stones"

Visited Joshua Tree National Park last Spring. I took a ton of pix,
so if I ever run out of things to paint (not likely), I can always dip into the vault for inspiration!

"The Happy Tree"

Happened to catch this interesting tree while visiting my daughter in LA last Spring.
And yes, it really did look like a smiling tree!

"Red. Buds."

Saw this interesting cactus while visiting my daughter in California.
I love the fact that the buds on a green cactus were this bright red color.

"Crescent Sail Sunrise"

Another dramatic sunrise over Lake St. Clair. Thank you Molly
for getting up so early to capture and post this scene!

"Unidentified Objects"

A beautiful scene from a very entertaining sci-fi flick. I highly recommend looking for it
if you're in the mood for something a bit different.

"Rhubarb"

Spotted these at our local farmer's market.
I had no idea rhubarb came in other colors.

"Fall Colors"

There was this huge crate of gourds the last time I visited Costco. I thought it would make a perfect fall painting. Not sure I was successful in doing the shading, especially on the lighter ones.
Need to work on that.

"Glazed & Confused"

Spotted this tasty offering at Kroger's a few weeks ago. It was a little challenging doing dark chocolate doughnuts on a dark tray. But I think it turned outlay.

"Mack Ave. Sunset 9/27/24"

This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I've seen in a long time. It was actually even more intense about ten minutes earlier. I was sitting in out tv room when I noticed the entire sky was bright orange. I grabbed my phone and headed down the street to document it. By the time I got there, this is what it looked like. Still pretty dramatic!

"Fenkell-Fairfield Bank"

Another in my series of paintings documenting the old banks of Detroit.

"Birch Backdrop"

  Who doesn't love birch trees?
