I worked at historic Elmwood Cemetery for three summers. It was a great job that allowed me to be outdoors all day and get paid to do it! It's such a beautiful setting, right in the heart of the city of Detroit. And it has so many great scenes that are definitely paintworthy. Here's one of them.
My love of the arts began early on in life and was greatly influenced by an inspiring photography teacher in high school. I began teaching myself to paint in 2019 and have had my work exhibited in numerous shows around the country. One of the joys of being an artist is looking at the world in totally different ways and discovering a painting or photograph in a million unexpected places. For inquiries: dominmark@yahoo.com

This is the resident cat at the Belle Isle Conservatory. He's an excellent mouser, a friendly soul, and a handsome devil to boot.

Spotted this unusual scene early one morning. I decided it was worth committing to canvas.
