I painted this right after I finished the Turkish window painting. That painting required meticulous detail and quite a bit of serious concentration. I needed to do something loose. I saw this building driving through Hamtramck right around sunset. The building might have been part of the old Dodge Main assembly plant. With the late afternoon sun shining on it, it had an almost magical quality. I did this painting in one afternoon and I think it turned out okay.
My love of the arts began early on in life and was greatly influenced by an inspiring photography teacher in high school. I began teaching myself to paint in 2019 and have had my work exhibited in numerous shows around the country. One of the joys of being an artist is looking at the world in totally different ways and discovering a painting or photograph in a million unexpected places. For inquiries: dominmark@yahoo.com

"Coming Home in the Dark"
A beautiful scene from a movie filmed in New Zealand. Unfortunately, the movie was horrible. Just an absolute bloodbath.

This is the resident cat at the Belle Isle Conservatory. He's an excellent mouser, a friendly soul, and a handsome devil to boot.
