As the city of Detroit comes back, we're losing some incredible old buildings in the process. One of the areas that still have a few interesting buildings is the Tool & Die area, near downtown. I've been documenting this area but it's sadly become a race against time. It won't be long before all these buildings are either town down, or transformed beyond recognition. I'll be committing some of my favorites to canvas from time to time.
My love of the arts began early on in life and was greatly influenced by an inspiring photography teacher in high school. I began teaching myself to paint in 2019 and have had my work exhibited in numerous shows in the Detroit area. One of the joys of being an artist is looking at the world in totally different ways and discovering a painting or photograph in a million unexpected places. For inquiries: dominmark@yahoo.com
