"Daggett Farmhouse"


I noticed this attractive scene on a recent visit to Greenfield Village. The contrast between the orange door and the gray farmhouse was striking. Knowing how the Village adheres to historical accuracy, I'm sure it was close to the original color combination. And I think it makes an interesting painting.

"Halvsies!"

  Spotted these at the grocery store. The color of the  blood oranges was s intense, I just had to paint them.

  • "A Sliver of Sunshine"
      Here's our cat Lizzie, on the landing catching a bit of afternoon sunshine. 
  • "Pavo"
    This is the resident cat at the Belle Isle Conservatory. He's an excellent mouser,  a friendly soul, and a handsome devil to boot.   
  • "Morning Rug"
      Spotted this unusual scene early one morning. I decided it was worth committing to canvas.
