"Laundry Day-Amish Country"

I recently spent a week with my cousin in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the heart of Amish country. Needless to say, I took a ton of photos, which will soon be transformed into a series of paintings. This is the first one. As you may or may not know, the Amish live a simple life and have largely shunned the ways of the 20th Century. They wear plain, unpretentious clothes and on any given day, one can spot laundry like these colorful dresses, hanging out to dry.
