"Cattail Trail"

 

A cold-chilly day on Belle Isle. The sun kept trying to break through. We started hiking from the nature center, but the trail was so boggy we had to give up after about a hundred yards in. But I did manage to grab a quick snap, which led to this painting.

"Perfect Parfait"

  Found these attractive treats at the grocery store  and thought they'd make an interesting still life. 

  • "A Sliver of Sunshine"
      Here's our cat Lizzie, on the landing catching a bit of afternoon sunshine. 
  • "Pavo"
    This is the resident cat at the Belle Isle Conservatory. He's an excellent mouser,  a friendly soul, and a handsome devil to boot.   
  • "The Rage"
      This is a self-portrait depicting the outrage I feel about the recent presidential election. I've thoroughly given up on this country....
