Since Christmas I've been taking after dinner walks around the neighborhood. It suddenly dawned on my that some of these scenes might make interesting subjects for paintings--especially with all the Christmas lights up. I really should have started a month and a half ago. Anyway, this is the first nighttime painting I've ever done. The very idea poses interesting challenges which I think I'm figuring out.
I really like your painting, but I have a question. Did you mean to have the side of the building the exact same color as the sky? My eyes aren't that great, so maybe I'm not seeing the colors correctly. If that's so, ignore my question lol.
ReplyDeleteIn the flesh both the side of the garage and the sky are almost black. In the photo they both look blue black. Maybe I need to darken the garage. Thanks!
