"Lenten Rose"

What a beautiful flower. This one blooms very early spring, when nothing else is in flower. And it blooms for a long time. Highly recommended.

"Kovacs Bar-Delray"

I've got wonderful memories of this place. It's was a Gypsy bar located in southwest Detroit, or Delray. Everything in the place was priced at $1! Beer,, burgers, fries, shots. And they had this great Gypsy trio playing. a standup bass, violin, and a cymbelum. The violinist and bass player would go from table to table, serenading the patrons. What a great place. I think it's long gone. I did this painting from an old, blurry snapshot I found on an on-line document that tells the whole history of Kovacs. If you'd like to read about its history:  https://www.michigan.gov/-/media/Project/Websites/MDOT/Bates/Bates2018/Historic_Properties_Documentation_Kovacs_Bar.pdf?rev=4348018dac2e477d8b5cbfccaf022529

"Delray Fire Engine 29"

A fire station I found driving around Southwest Detroit. Such a beautiful building. Perhaps a series of fire stations in the future?

"Furry Doorstop"

This is our cat Lizzie. She's a total sun worshipper. Here she is, holding court at our back door, soaking up some Spring sunshine.

"Mack Avenue Sunset 4/6/22"

One of the most dramatic sunsets I've ever seen. And the cool thing was it changed every five or ten minutes. I could do a whole series of paintings from this one evening, and they'd all be different!

"Glads All Over"

Saw these bright orange glads down at the new garden at Belle Isle. Not sure anyone younger than 60 will get the reference of the title.

"Charlevoix Sunrise 3/31/22"

This is a morning sky from a week ago. It was interesting because the sky totally changed about every ten minutes. The wind was pretty strong and kept blowing in different cloud formations.

"Catcher in the Rye"

A cozy spot for reading in our master bedroom. The title refers to one of my favorite books of all time, which just happens to be on the chair. Barely visible is a toy mouse our cat left on the floor.

"Lettuce Entertain You"

A loose painting of a bunch of lettuce at the Eastern Market.
