"White Coneflowers"

I thought these were pretty striking! Not the usual purple ones.
I've sen them in red and yellow, but until now, never pure white.

"Love the Gloves"

Wandering around a public garden I noticed someone left a pair of gloves on the slate border.
I thought it made an interesting composition. Proving once again,
you never know where you'll find something to paint!

"The Thrill of the Hill"

While leaving a restaurant the other night I noticed this dramatic scene. After painting it, I noticed it looked a little like Van Gogh's "Starry Night," Totally coincidental, I can assure you.

"Last Love"

This is a watercolor I did from a screen grab from a beautiful movie called "Last Love."
It stars Michael Caine and I hight recommend looking for it.

"Woodward Bank"

I recently went on a mission to photograph the last of the old bank buildings in Detroit. I haven't painted one in a while so I thought I do one of the prettier ones. This one is on Woodward in the New Center area and is still functioning as a bank. There are tons of them and hopefully I'll get around to painting them all.

"SnowTree #12"

Well, this makes it an even dozen in the series. This is one of the redbud in our front yard.
I love the way the snow made stripes on the lower branch. Pretty cool!

"SnowTree #11"

I love the way the seed pods hang from our Redbud trees almost all year.
Here they are after a snowstorm.

"Creepy Driveway"

Out walking the other day, er, night, I spotted this creepy scene. I think it turned ut okay, but the glare around the lights needs some work.

"Fir Sure"

Once in a while it pays to look up! Saw this majestic pine tree strolling through one of our local parks. Thought it deserved to be captured on canvas.

"Loose Roses"

I thought I'd do a looser painting of some flowers. I got these roses for our anniversary, and with the way the sunlight was hitting them, they practically glowed.

"Chartreuse"

My wife and I went to the incredible restaurant "Chartreuse" for our anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago. Naturally, the restaurant walls were painted Chartreuse. Not an easy color to match. But I think I came pretty close. And the wine glass wasn't empty for long!

Interesting little scene I found at the Docklands Museum in London last summer.

"NighTree #5"

This is another one that's pretty minimalist. I think it works.

"NighTree #4"

I thought this scene was pretty dramatic. One thing that struck me while I was walking around at night, was just how many gnarly and bendy trees were out there. It makes for some interesting paintings.

"NighTree #2"

I'm not totally happy with the way the aura around the moon turned out. I think I need to practice my glows. But overall, I think it captures the eerie nighttime vibe.

"Birch Backdrop"

  Who doesn't love birch trees?
