I recently bought a MetroPark pass and have been going on hikes at the various parks. It's interesting how the terrain and the flora vary from park to park. Especially considering they're all in the Metro Detroit area. This scene was on a hike along the Huron River in Lower Huron MetroPark. It was eerily quiet and the river was so peaceful, I could have sat there for hours. Truly a nice break from the noise and hectic pace of the city.
My love of the arts began early on in life and was greatly influenced by an inspiring photography teacher in high school. I began teaching myself to paint in 2019 and have had my work exhibited in numerous shows around the country. One of the joys of being an artist is looking at the world in totally different ways and discovering a painting or photograph in a million unexpected places. For inquiries: dominmark@yahoo.com

"Perfect Parfait"
Found these attractive treats at the grocery store and thought they'd make an interesting still life.

This is the resident cat at the Belle Isle Conservatory. He's an excellent mouser, a friendly soul, and a handsome devil to boot.

This is a self-portrait depicting the outrage I feel about the recent presidential election. I've thoroughly given up on this country....
